Barnyard Part Time / Entry Level Team Members

Location: Barnyard Dog Den (part of Barnyard Pet & Equestrian Supplies) Northwich, CW9 6FY

Hours:  Various Week Day Shifts available of approx. 2.5 – 5 hours per week plus additional adhoc hours at busy periods / holiday cover

​

Are you passionate about dogs, great customer service, and looking to gain hands-on workplace experience? If so then Barnyard could be the place for you!

​

Barnyard is looking for enthusiastic team members to join our indoor dog play and retail space team during the week.  Working approximately 4 hours per week initially, this role is ideally suited as an entry-level opportunity with the flexibility to accommodate college students or others seeking flexible hours. It is designed to help you build practical skills in customer relations and retail operations while working in a dog-centred environment alongside a supportive team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Dog & Visitor Care: Welcoming human guests and their dogs into our indoor play area, ensuring a safe, friendly, and vibrant environment.

  • Play Area Maintenance: Keeping all dog play zones and dog wash facilities clean, sanitised, tidy, and safe throughout the day.

  • Retail Operations: Potential to assist with shop floor tasks, restock inventory, answer customer enquiries, and learn basic point-of-sale (POS) skills during quieter periods through our adjacent Pet & Equestrian Retail store.

  • Customer Experience: Helping organise events, supervising dog play sessions to ensure that they run smoothly, and ensuring every guest leaves happy and dogs leave with their tails wagging.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and a positive attitude.

  • A genuine love for dogs and comfort working around pets of all sizes and energy levels.

  • Good communication skills and a willingness to help human visitors.

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle physical activity (cleaning, moving stock, standing during shifts).

  • Candidates who are able to work short shifts of up to approx. 4 hour blocks during the weekday with some flexibility to work weekend, evening, or holiday shifts as agreed.
